Don’t allow Trump’s chaos to distract from the GOP plan to destroy Social Security
Donald Trump has plunged the U.S. political system and the lives of the everyday people they purport to represent into daily chaos.
Some have called Speaker of the House Paul Ryan spineless for allowing Trump to derail the nation with his chaotic presidency. But, as Social Security Works’ very own Linda Benesch and Alex Lawson wrote on the Huffington Post, Ryan isn’t spinless, so much as he is an evil opportunist.
Speaker Ryan thinks he can sneak the complete destruction of Medicare, Medicaid and Social Security through Congress without oversight as the White House issues unconstitutional executive orders that suck up the public’s attention.
We need to tell Speaker Ryan: We’re watching you, and when you come for our earned benefits, we will defeat you.
Together we stopped George W. Bush’s attempt to privatize Social Security. We stopped the benefit cutting “grand bargain.” And we will stop Paul Ryan and Donald Trump.
